Well, better 10 days late than never, that's what they say, right?
But seeing as I was sick for 90% of July, I think it is understandable why I wasn't super keen to write this update. To sum it up simply, much of July was made up of the following: sleep, eat, empty another box of tissues, cough loudly and repeat.
But of course, this did not stop me from fitting in a few other things:

Movies
- Dancer in the Dark- One of the most tragic films I have ever seen.
- Being Elmo- There is no rational explanation for my supreme obsession with Elmo; case in point: this documentary about the puppeteer behind this beautiful little character made me cry. Yep, that's how much I love Elmo.

TV Shows
- American Horror Story: Asylum- Just as scary (if not more) than the first season. I loved that it was a period piece and I loved seeing actors from last season in completely new roles.
- Parks and Recreation (Season 5)- This hilarious show is the sort of show I watch when I get home after a long day and all I want is to relax and be entertained.

Around town
- Dinner @ Malamay
- Breakfast @ Double Shot
Baked sweet potato, quinoa,
beetroot and pea rosti with poached eggs, salsa verde and sourdough
(with a peanut butter and banana smoothie in the background) from
Doubleshot.
- Dinner @ Dessert Castle
- Breakfast @ Monster
- Breakfast @ Red Brick Espresso
Shakshuka baked eggs with harissa and persian feta and sourdough from Red Brick Espresso. Not pictured: A salted caramel milkshake that was to die for.

Listening
- A bunch of songs by Irish singer-songwriter Hozier including From Eden, Like Real People Do and Cherry Wine.
- Is this How you Feel?- The Preatures
- Accident- Emily Wolfe
- Heartbeats- The Knife version & Jose Gonzalez cover
- Aerosol Can- Major Lazer feat. Pharrell Williams
- 3005.- Childish Gambino
- I Wanna Get Better- Bleachers

Sipping
- This month I seemed to be having a lot of milkshakes and smoothies... other than that nothing new to report in the area of beverages.

Reading
- One More Thing- B.J Novak
- Enduring Love- Ian McEwan
- This is Where I Leave You- Jonathan Tropper

Cooking
- I have been trying for years to find the perfect banana bread recipe, this month I tried Curtis Stone's. My verdict: very yummy but probably not worth the amount of sugar and oil that it contains.
- Cookies and Cream Cake- recipe from a Women's Weekly Chocolate Favourites book (image below)

The Big Trip
- Booked my Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas

Happy snap
